OpenAI Dev Day
We see jokes about Sam Altman killing off thousands of AI startups with each new feature.
To some extent, it’s true.
But if we dig deeper, what Sam and OpenAI did was enable thousands more AI startups to be built with its better tools.
Will you be one of them?
I’ve been playing with autonomous agents since April and they’ve been slowly getting better.
AutoGPT was overhyped and its capabilities didn’t impress.
But I did get a glimpse into what the future would look like as LLMs get cheaper and smarter.
I theorized in April that there would be media buying agents, creative strategy agents, data analyst agents who could assist the growth marketing teams.
OpenAI is slowly rolling this concept out.
You can now build your own GPT or use someone else’s GPT if you have ChatGPT plus.
Don’t have it?
Get it. It’s worth it.
Train it on your own data, like winning scripts, and ask it to generate more like it.
Watch one of the demos where they create an autonomous agent GPT that can schedule a calendar event on your Gmail for you with Zapier. All in a few minutes…
Watch the whole thing if you have 45 minutes.
Other notable announcements:
GPT Store - revenue sharing for GPT creators
Assistants API - same concept as GPTs
New text-to-speech model available through the API
Dalle-3 image generation available through the API
Improved Function Calling - TBH, I still need to understand this better
JSON mode - so ChatGPT only outputs working JSON
What custom GPT are you building for yourself or others?
